Samoa Coral Aquarium Sand 200g ~ KH Mineral Boost
Using coral sand in a shrimp tank can be beneficial for molting as it helps maintain calcium levels which is essential for healthy exoskeleton formation during molting. It’s also great for raising the KH which is important for snail shell growth. We use coral in all our tanks, we add a little to a net bag and hang it to the back of our aquariums (these can be purchased separately), alternatively it can be mixed in with substrate or sand or added to a filter compartment
Collecting natural coral sand from the Ocean is becoming a thing of the past due to the negative impact it has on the sea bed, Samoa sand is a man made alternative that is made by using natural aragonite and calcium carbonate to form these sand particles. It is porous and has all the same buffering capacity as natural coral sand. Great for shrimp & snail aquariums, calcium based so will raise the KH and stabilise the PH.
